Christmas is over :( I know it is sad but it is the truth... Now is the time for the holiday rebound and the New Years resolutions. Everybody has one, even the ones that say they don't really do but maybe they just don't want to talk about it.
Here's the deal, if you are not going to be realistic in making your resolution then maybe don't bother making one. Why? What's the point in setting yourself up for failure? How much good will it do for you to get one week of a healthy lifestyle in and then quitting because you went overboard? Well, there is no point, and it won't do you any good.
So what to do what to do....
Start small....
Don't try to go out and run 3 miles a day if you have never even run 1.
Don't tell yourself your going to go to the gym everyday if you currently don't even go once a week.
Don't go on a starvation diet (ever) if you eat fast food for lunch everyday.
Being realistic means setting achievable (smart) goals, keeping things "doable", put yourself on a progressive system, meaning start small with the intention of ramping it up every week or two to achieve goals.
Life is real, fitness is real, fat is real, everything is real, so why bother making goals that are not??
